Dearborn Music is a legendary record store with a deep history and an even deeper catalog. But while the music speaks volumes, the atmosphere of the store—its energy, creativity, and soul—often went unnoticed beyond its walls. The challenge was to create a way for people to feel the connection between the music they love and the space that curates it so passionately. We needed to bridge the emotional gap between sound and setting.
We set out to create a film that blends the sensory experience of Dearborn Music into a single, cinematic story. By pairing vivid visuals of the store's unique layout, textures, and character with a thoughtfully curated soundtrack, we built a piece that echoes the same creativity and nostalgia found in flipping through a vinyl collection. Every frame was designed to move like music—rhythmic, expressive, and immersive—so viewers could feel the harmony between the environment and the art it celebrates.
The final film struck a chord. Dearborn Music saw a noticeable uptick in social media engagement and community response, with many viewers commenting on how the video "felt like being there." It didn’t just showcase the store—it celebrated the cultural heartbeat behind it. By translating the store’s unique vibe into a visual medium, we helped reinforce its legacy while attracting a new generation of music lovers.
